Choosing your playmat

Are your playmats non-toxic?

Yes, our EVA foam playmats are BPA, lead and phthalate-free. We’re also EU and US safety-certified, giving you peace of mind.

Are your playmats suitable for babys?

Yes, our playmats are suitable for all ages. From tummy time to toddler play, playmats provide a safe and comfortable space for little ones to grow, move, and play. We do recommend that children are supervised at all times.

Can I customise the colours of my playmat?

Yes, you can now customise our plain playmats by using our new build your own playmat tool. Choose from over 10 different colours to mix and match a colour theme to suit your home.

Can I buy additional playmat tiles?

Yes! Our tiles fit together like a jigsaw, so you can extend your playmat at a later date. See our Additional Tiles page here.

Can I fit plain and pattern playmat tiles together?

No, our plain and patterned playmat tiles aren’t compatible and can’t be fitted together. They’re produced by different suppliers, which means the tile dimensions and interlocking edges differ slightly. To ensure the best fit and finish, we recommend using the same tile style within one playmat setup.

What sizes are your playmats available in?

Our playmats are available in lots of different sizes to suit your family and home. Visit our playmat size guide for more information.

Do you offer a bespoke sizing service?

Yes, our playmat tiles can be cut to fit your space, whatever the size. Get in touch with us here on how to do this: hello@gusandbeau.com.

Using your playmat

How do I assemble my playmat?

Assembling your playmat is easy with our 4 step guide. Find out more here

How do I clean my playmat?

Our playmats are very easy to clean and usually a damp cloth with just water will do! If using a cleaner, we advise using a non-alcohol based one. Ensure the playmat is completely dry after cleaning.

Can I use under floor heating with my playmat?

We do not recommend using our pattern playmats on floors with underfloor heating as they can be affected by sustained heat and may react differently when placed on heated surfaces.

Our plain playmats can be used with underfloor heating, but will expand and contract with temperature changes. For this reason we advise to leave space around the edge of the playmat and avoid placing the mat up against a wall or skirting board.

Can I place furniture on top of my playmat?

We don't recommend placing furniture or heavy objects on your playmat. Our mats are made from EVA foam, which whilst durable, can be damaged by excess weight and contact with sharp objects.

Can I use my playmat outside?

Our playmats are designed for indoor use, however many of our customers use them outdoors. Please note that although EVA foam is a durable material, it will mark if it comes in to contact with sharp objects or heavy furniture. We advise to keep your playmat out of direct sunlight as it could affect the colour and over all quality of the playmat.
